Kuching City Tour with Semenggoh Wildlife Centre

Bạn được trải nghiệm những gì?

The city is cut almost in half by the meandering Sarawak River - it's lifeline since time immemorial and where it all began in 1839. It's skyline is a mix of minarets and domes, ornate temple roofs, church spires, fortress, towers, modern and colonial buildings - all set amidst a profusion of greenery against the dramatic backdrop of the inky-blue Santubong and Matang Mountains. This city tour will take you to all the famous, must-see landmarks in Kuching. Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is known as the largest Orang Utan rehabilitation centre. Established during 1975, it has been the place where semi-wild Orang Utans are being protected. Currently, there are 26 semi-wild Orang Utans at Semenggoh in total; roaming free within a 740 hectare forest reserve. They spend most of their time roaming the forest but frequently come back to the centre for a free meal. If it is the fruiting season in the forest, some or even all of them may not come to feed. This in itself is a good sign and another step on the way to full rehabilitation.
Hotel Pick-up: 09:00 City Sightseeing Visit the Sarawak Museum and the Brooke Legacy (White Rajahs) - Square Tower, Astana (The Palace) and the Court House. There is also the Cat Monument, Tua Pek Kong - Chinese Temple, the old State Mosque and one of the hottest leisure spots in the City, the Kuching Waterfront Esplanade – with views across to the Astana and Fort Margherita. The narrow, bustling streets near the river are crammed with ornate temples, markets, historic buildings and traditional Chinese shop houses selling local handicrafts. Semenggoh Wildlife Centre The Centre is the biggest Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre in Sarawak that established in 1975 as a sanctuary for the injured and orphaned Orang Utans, it is a 20 minutes' drive. There are feeding times scheduled every day at the feeding platform. However always bear in mind that the main aim of the Centre is to return these animals back into their habitat. Do not be disappointed if you do not see any roaming the jungles or coming back to feed as this means they are able to forage on their own and do not need human assistance. Hotel Drop-off: 15:00
